The Lawrencetown and District Volunteer Fire Department is a team made up of all sorts of people, all with one goal in mind. We protect the Citizens and Visitors of Lawrencetown and the Annapolis Valley. Our success is hinged on bringing different skills together to achieve a common goal. Our department has a pride forged in over 100 years of rich history, a pride that continues today. We have some of the most cutting edge technology for our members to use. If you are interested in a challenging and rewarding spot on the LVFD Team, print out an application , fill it out and drop by on any Wednesday training night at 7:00 pm, or 7:30 pm on the last Wednesday of every month which is reserved for our monthly meeting. Once you submit your application and a police background check, you will be invited to join us for a month of training. At the end of the month, we will have an interview with you to see if you still want to commit to being in the fire service. We will then read your application at our monthly meeting and vote on your joining as a probationary member, at which time you will be given a pager and be allowed to respond to calls. After six months of being a probationary member, there will be another vote, if successful, you will be given a key to the fire hall. Finally, after 12 months of service as a probationary member, there will be another vote, and you will be granted full membership in the Lawrencetown & District Volunteer Fire Dept.
